Parish Life

The heart of a parish is the Eucharist, but the parish family is the body that makes it a unique and vibrant community with an exciting parish life. Our parish offers a variety of ways to be part of that communal family in addition to the celebration of the sacraments.

Bereavement Meeting

Starting in February, Ministry of Consolation now meets every Thursday night, 7:30-8:30 PM, in Fr. Leo’s Office.

“On Sunday and Monday, February 17-18, a group of teenagers will participate in the annual 30-hour fast in the church hall. They will be seeking sponsors to raise funds, through fasting, for a water well in a remote village in Sierra Leone, West Africa. They will also invite your donations after all masses. Please be generous and supportive of them."

Virtus Training

The next training in English will be Friday, February 15 in Room 5 from 6 pm to 9 pm. The training is mandatory for all paid staff & volunteers having contact or potential contact with children in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. There is no cost for the training. To register, please call the parish office at (661) 943-9314 or email Vonnie Bennett at

This year St. Serra will be supporting Mother’s Day and Father’s Day busses to take children in our community to see their incarcerated parents. Look for the volunteers in the purple t-shirts to get more information, to make a donation, or to volunteer for this amazing ministry. We need volunteers to help with the bake sale, people to collect toys and stuff backpacks for the children, shop for teddy bears and snacks, and others to be hosts on the day of the event.
